Having had a couple of weeks off since the last wedding at the end of June it was back to work for Hector with a trip to e of our favourite and most visited wedding venues, The Great Barn in Titchfield. If you’re looking for a Barn wedding where you can really create everything from a blank canvas then this place is well worth a look. For this update we take you back to June last year and the wedding of Jessica and Ashley on a glorious Summers day at The Royal Marines Museum in Southsea, Portsmouth. Sadly this is a venue that has now closed its doors I think and we will miss visiting there.
There was nothing complicated with this one as it was a pick up in Southsea and transport the bridal party to the venue. After the ceremony we then stayed for photos. This wedding had it all…including campervans everywhere, some of the liveliest bridesmaids we’ve ever encountered and a who’s who of wedding suppliers. Hector was on bridesmaids duty for the journey to the church and then onto The Long Barn for the reception/party to begin. This was the weekend Storm Hector was making headlines, but with no sign of him here on the south coast our very own Hector was back out on duty with a wedding at Skylark Golf and Country Club, in their Barn they have on the grounds. Our 1st pick up was for the bridesmaids from Hedge End before hot footing it back for the bride, her mum and her brother. As per our normal service we then waited for the ceremony to finish so photos could be taken.

After yesterday’s marathon day in Bournemouth it was nice to be back local for this wedding on Hayling Island. Hector picked up the bride and father before transporting them via the seafront on the short journey to the church. After the ceremony Hector then took the bride and groom to the reception at the beautifully decorated Northney Village Hall where we were greeted on arrival by the familiar faces of Nicola and Sandra from Behind The Scenes Events. It’s been a while since we last posted on here, in fact it’s been 6 months since our last wedding update back in June! Time to rectify that I think and bring you up to date with all our weddings we did since then. What else is there to do on a grey, cold January morning….
First up is this one from our amazing day spent by the seaside (a different one to normal) down in Bournemouth! It was an early start with pick up of the bridal party at 10am to get them to the venue for 11.45am. As The venue had been hired all day (5pm) there was only one thing for it on a hot summers day..a quick change into shorts and flip flops and 5 hours on the beach. It’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it…The return journey for the bride and groom saw us travel to Romsey for the reception which was being held in a marquee within the grounds of a local pub. Congratulations Elaine and Jason and thank you for a great day. Hector even made the cake!
Who doesn’t love a Tuesday wedding…especially when it’s nice and local and the weather is gorgeous! Hector travelled over to Gosport for this one to transport the bride and her dad on our very first visit to Fareham Registry Office, before taking the bride and groom and their three children to the Cams Mill pub for the reception. This was a new venue for us with our first journey to the gorgeous Long Furlong Barn in West Sussex. It just so happened we also had both the boys AKA Hector and Ozzy booked for this one, which made for an awesome day! Hector was on bridesmaids duty while Ozzy had the important task of getting the bride and her father there on time. The barn is is simply beautiful and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly towards us. The open fields also made for some great photo opportunities with both cars being together.

After a short break Hector was back on it with an early morning trip to Hayling Island to (surprise) pick up the grooms party and transport them to The Solent Hotel & Spa for 11.30am! The bride saw how much he loved H when we met them at a wedding fayre last year and secretely booked him. After the 12.30pm ceremony we then took the bride and groom to Titchfield Abbey for some photos.
